Codfish on a Tin Plate

This is the first book penned by poet and author Elizabeth Martina Bishop that features a commentary relating to each of the poems in the text. In deriving the commentaries, Elizabeth has noted that such prose texts often morph into prose poems that are filled with witticisms and further poetic insights. In no way are the commentaries supposed to represent a critical evaluation of the aesthetics contained in each poem. The poems in this book are utterly surreal in expression and have as their focus: an invitation to partake of a hearty meal full of poetry, frivolity, and fun.
